This photo series documents a full day at Josh Ocean View Villa in Cemagi, Badung, Bali from dawn to dusk.
There was no fixed shot list. Each frame was made when the light revealed something worth holding.
Morning sun shaped the bedrooms.
Afternoon highlights brought out texture and detail.
By sunset the villa was framed in warm tones.
Dawn - The still hour
This photoshoot begins when almost everyone is still fast asleep.
In the distance, Mount Agung and Mount Batur queitly show their presence, A stark reminder that they’ve stood here long before the villas, the rooftop, or even the idea of Bali as a Destination.
As the sun begins to rise, light peeks over the horizon and softens the darkness.
The reflection pool catches the changing sky, while streaks of sunlight creeps across the open deck into the rooms.
Morning - The Wake-Up Light
The day begins in the main bedroom, where soft sunlight filters through large windows, casting a calm across the space.
Breakfast follows.
Coffee and toast on the rooftop hits different when the ocean breeze and view come with it.
Then, the villa shifts.
The bedrooms becomes a workspace, A laptop on the bed, the pool within reach, work and stillness in one frame.
Midday - Structure in Stillness
Josh Ocean View Villa sits just fifty meters from the shore of Mengening Beach in Cemagi, Bali.
A quiet stretch known for its rice fields and uninterrupted ocean views, where the architecture stands between the two, holding its shape under full sun.
The villa is simple in form, two main levels and a rooftop that opens to sky and sea.
From above, you can see how the pool runs parallel to the living spaces, while the rooftop deck sits at the edge, positioned for sunsets and ocean breeze.
The outside of the villa mixes concrete, natural stone, and warm wood. All materials that fit well with the Bali climate.
Big windows and sliding doors help brings in fresh air and sunlight, while keeping the inside cool and shaded.
Seen from the street, the villa feels bold and private, with just enough greenery to soften the clean lines of the building.
Afternoon - Light in Transition
Inside, the Villa’s open layout makes the most of its surroundings. Floor to Ceiling windows bring in natural light throughout the day, giving the space a warm, grounded feel.
From the living and dining areas, you look out toward lush greenery and catch glimpses of the ocean through tall palms.
Sliding doors blur the line between indoors and out, letting in the breeze, or leading you to a quiet moment on the balcony.
Whether reading in the corner or gathered around the table, the space stays bright, open, and connected to the landscape.

Dusk - The Final Glow
As the sun sets, the villa offers two ways to end the day:
Up on the rooftop, loking out toward the beach or on the balcony with your favorite company.
A cold beer on the table.
Palm trees silhouetted against the evening sky.
It’s the kind of moment that asks for nothing
Quiet.
Warm.
Exactly how a day in Bali should end.
This was my personal take on documenting a designed living space like an editorial feature, not just another photoshoot.
From dawn to dusk.
